SEAP FM Okeho: One year of broadcasting excellence, by Bola Olalere

SEAP 89.1FM joined the OkeOgun airwaves on February 9, 2024 and in just one year of its operations, it has dominated the airwaves not only in OkeOgun but in all the neighboring communities, even up to the Republic of Benin as listeners call from there often.

The radio station which prides itself as the entrepreneship radio lived up to its name with its dramatic entry into the market and proved to the people that they really mean business.

Can anything good come out of Nazareth was the thought of many people when the radio station started in Okeho. Many faults the location of the station, forgetting that it’s not always about the location but about the strategy.

What are the strategies that endears the radio station to the mind of the listeners in a very short time ? Programming, the station has a number of audience driving programs which gives the listeners the rare privilege to air their opinions on such a medium of communication, something that was near impossible before this time.

They also have program for everyone, the Kings , the Children, the Adults, Women, Business people and Sports lovers. The station presence has improved the sporting activities in the community as tournaments are now held regularly with SEAP FM promoting it.

Their newspaper review in Yoruba and English is everyday’s tonic for some people, as it forms part of their ‘To do list’ every morning, while the sport lovers always long for their favorite sports shows on the radio station.

Music lovers don’t need to change the frequency as SEAP FM meets the yearnings of both the old and young in their music box selections.

Apart from the program, the station is also maned by seasoned broadcasters stating from their Managing Director, Lawrence Olisa, a seasoned broadcaster and administrator per excellence. The station is equally blessed with veterans like Dele Faleti, Adedayo Idowu and many others.

It has some young talents who are keeping people glued to the station and above all the Chairman of the station, Pastor Oladokun Olatunde’s business inspirational programs every Tuesdays is another program that people wait for every week.

And as the listenership grows, the advertisers are having confidence of their messages reaching the right audience, it’s a dawn of a new broadcasting era in OkeOgun with SEAP 89.1FM.
