Sowore berates IGP, alleges bias in police

Renowned activist and publisher, Omoyele Sowore, has sparked a firestorm on social media with explosive allegations against Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.
In a scathing post, Sowore accused Egbetokun of perpetuating favoritism and discrimination within the Nigeria Police Force, disproportionately benefiting Yoruba officers in coveted assignments.
Sowore claimed widespread discontent among senior officers, who allegedly eagerly await Egbetokun’s retirement, predicted to occur as early as next week. He asserted that officers will celebrate Egbetokun’s exit, relieved by his departure.
The activist also hinted at similar dynamics within the Department of State Services (DSS), implying officers are secretly rejoicing over the departure of certain officials.

As a vocal critic of government corruption, Sowore’s latest remarks are likely to fuel further discussion about ensuring fairness and accountability within the security forces.
Notably, neither the police nor DSS has responded to Sowore’s allegations, leaving the public eagerly awaiting official statements.
