Szoboszlai lauds Slot’s impact at Liverpool

Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai has praised the impact of head coach Arne Slot on his playing style,
Szoboszlai commended the Dutch manager for unlocking his offensive potential in his second season at Anfield.
Dominik Szoboszlai has opened up about the significant changes in his role under new Liverpool manager Arne Slot, highlighting a shift towards a more offensive playing style.
The Hungarian international, who joined the Reds in the summer of 2023, has flourished in his second season at Anfield, contributing five goals and four assists across 32 appearances in all competitions.
Szoboszlai’s adaptation to Slot’s system marks a departure from his more defensive duties under former manager Jurgen Klopp, with the midfielder now enjoying greater freedom to influence play in the final third. “This time I am a little bit more offensively than defensively and I’m still doing the work for the defence part,” Szoboszlai explained, emphasising the balance in his new role.
The 24-year-old’s comments underscore Slot’s tactical acumen, with the Dutch coach identifying and developing aspects of Szoboszlai’s game that the player himself had not previously considered. Despite his impressive form, Szoboszlai remains committed to further improvement, stating, “I still can improve for sure and I’m working on it every day.”
