Tragedy hits NIWA as top official dies


Jibril Dardau, the General Manager of Corporate Affairs at the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), passed away early hour of Friday in Lokoja, the capital of Kogi.
According to family reports, Dardau passed away not long after leading the morning prayer.
“Dardau Jibril died in the early hours of today 26th Ramadan 1445, equivalent to 5th April 2024 after leading early morning Subhi Prayer.”
“He will be led to his final resting home at Unguwan Power graveyard in Lokoja, immediately after the Jummat service today.”
After Tayo Fadile retired from government service, Dardau took over the Cooperate Affairs Unit of NIWA.
He was born and raised in Lokoja, Kogi State’s Lokoja LGA.
