Transfer deadline day: Arsenal, Chelsea, others make last-minute moves

As the transfer window closes today, several Premier League clubs are making last-minute moves to strengthen their squads.
Arsenal is weighing up moves for Chelsea’s Raheem Sterling and Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman, having been approached about both players in the final days of the transfer window.
Chelsea, meanwhile, has enquired about the availability of Benfica centre-back Tomas Araujo ahead of the transfer deadline.
The Blues are also in talks with Napoli over a deal for Victor Osimhen, with a loan deal with an obligation to buy now on the table.
Southampton is exploring the possibility of signing Maxwel Cornet from West Ham, while also considering a loan deal for their former midfielder James Ward-Prowse. Brighton has submitted a €20 million offer to Nordsjaelland for striker Conrad Harder.
In other news, Millwall has rejected an approach from Burnley for Zian Flemming, while Galatasaray winger Wilfried Zaha is close to joining Lyon on loan. Manchester City is ready to offer midfielder James McAtee a new contract after rebuffing bids of up to £30 million during the summer transfer window.
Nottingham Forest’s Danilo, who suffered a leg break, may return to training by December. Celtic has agreed on a £6 million-plus deal to sign Auston Trusty but faces an anxious wait to see if they can get a work permit before the close of the transfer window.
As the transfer window draws to a close, these last-minute moves could have a significant impact on the Premier League season ahead.
