Transfer: Man United eye Fiorentina’s striker

Manchester United are weighing a move for Fiorentina striker Moise Kean, whose €52 million release clause will be active from 1 to 15 July.
The Italian forward’s future remains open, with interest from Saudi clubs and Fiorentina keen to retain their star.
Manchester United have stepped up their interest in Fiorentina striker Moise Kean ahead of the summer transfer window. The 25-year-old Italian striker is coming off the back of his best season, scoring 25 goals in all competitions and 19 in Serie A, making him one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe.
The key to the deal lies in the 52 million euro buy-out clause, valid only from 1 to 15 July, during which time any club can acquire his services if they pay that amount. Manchester United see Kean as a more affordable alternative to other strikers on the market, having ruled out the likes of Viktor Gyokeres due to his high cost.
The English club are looking to bolster their attack after a disappointing season and a lack of goalscoring consistency from their current strikers. However, Fiorentina remain keen to retain Kean, who enjoys the backing of both club, fans and coach Stefano Pioli.
The striker has not ruled out staying in Florence either, aware of his importance to the team and the esteem in which he is held. Saudi Pro League clubs have joined the bidding for Kean, willing to match the clause and offer him a million-dollar contract, although the player prioritises his sporting career and his chances with the Italian national team ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
