Troops capture suspected gunrunner in Plateau


Troops operating under Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) in Plateau State have captured a notorious gunrunner linked to multiple terrorist activities in the North Central region.
According to security analyst and counterinsurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, a successful intelligence operation led to the arrest of the gunrunner on June 14.
The suspect was traced and apprehended in the Furaka community, located within the Lamingo axis of Jos Local Government Area.
intelligence sources cited by Zagazola Makama, the apprehended gunrunner has been linked to the deadly Christmas Eve attacks in 2023 on Bokkos and Barkin Ladi Local Government Areas. Furthermore, during initial interrogations, the suspect reportedly admitted to orchestrating numerous kidnapping operations spanning multiple local government areas, including Barkin Ladi, Bassa, Jos East, and Riyom.
The apprehended gunrunner is currently being held in military custody, where further inquiries and interrogations are being conducted to uncover additional information and evidence.
