The Nigerian Army disclosed the details of the operation in a statement accompanied by pictures, which were shared on the social media platform X.com on Thursday.

The statement partly read, “The troops, responding to actionable intelligence, executed a well-coordinated ambush along the Tasha-Bwari Road, a vital link between Gurara town in Kachia and Kagarko Local Government Areas of Kaduna State.

“During the operation, the troops engaged the terrorists in a fierce gun battle, resulting in the neutralisation of two terrorists, while others straggled away with gunshot wounds.”

The soldiers were said to have recovered an AK-47 rifle with 27 rounds of ammunition, two machetes, two mobile phones, and a sum of N80,000, among others, during the operation.

The Nigerian Army has characterized the operation as a substantial setback for the terrorist organization.
