VIDEO: Boyfriend of murdered Salome Adaidu breaks silence

Maxwell Ajah, the boyfriend of late Salome Eleojo Adaidu, has recounted his last interaction with the young woman before her tragic murder, revealing unsettling details that have left him devastated and seeking justice.

Speaking with Salome’s elder sister, Patience Adaidu Unekwuojo, during a phone interview, Maxwell disclosed that he had been in a committed relationship with Salome since 2018. He refuted claims by the accused murderer, Oluwatimileyin Ajayi, who alleged that he was Salome’s boyfriend, asserting that he and Salome shared a loving and trusting bond.

Maxwell described Salome as a gentle and compassionate soul who was never violent. He last saw her on a Thursday when she visited his home, planning to meet again on Sunday. She had promised to cook for him after church, knowing he was feeling unwell.

On Saturday evening, while waiting for a haircut, Maxwell called Salome. He immediately noticed an unusual change in her tone. She seemed irritable, accusing him of not missing her. Their conversation ended abruptly, leaving him concerned.

He called again using a friend’s phone, but her responses remained short and hurried.

“I wasn’t comfortable with the way she sounded. She seemed different, as if she was under duress,” Maxwell recounted.

Later that night, he sent her a message on WhatsApp to check in. Her responses, he noted, were unusually brief and devoid of her characteristic warmth. When he wished her “sweet dreams,” she did not reply as she normally would. Screenshots of their final chat showed Salome claiming she had accidentally turned on her mobile data, a statement Maxwell found unsettling.

Deeply troubled, Maxwell emphasized that Salome was an innocent woman who did not deserve her horrific fate. He called for justice, demanding that those responsible for her murder be held accountable.

Maxwell dismissed any notions of infidelity or suspicions between them, highlighting the trust that defined their relationship. He also denied ever having access to her phone password, underscoring his respect for her privacy.

With grief and determination, Maxwell concluded his account with a plea for swift justice, ensuring that Salome’s memory would not be tarnished by the lies of her alleged killer.
