VIDEO: How SDP’s Murtala Ajaka was attacked at Supreme Court after ruling

Chaos erupted at the Supreme Court on Friday as Murtala Ajaka, the Social Democratic Party’s (SDP) governorship candidate in Kogi State, was violently assaulted by unidentified thugs.
The incident occurred immediately after the Supreme Court upheld Usman Ododo’s victory as Kogi State Governor.
Ajaka had contested the election result announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on November 11, 2023, which declared Ododo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) the winner.
Despite his efforts, the Supreme Court affirmed Ododo’s victory, dismissing Ajaka’s request to void the election.
Eyewitnesses report that Ajaka was attacked by a group of thugs shortly after the ruling, sparking tension and chaos at the Supreme Court premises. The identity and motives of the attackers are currently unknown.

This disturbing incident raises concerns about political violence and intimidation in Nigeria. The attack on Ajaka, a legitimate candidate exercising his legal rights, undermines the democratic process and rule of law.
