Vinicius Junior faces two-match ban

Real Madrid winger Vinicius Junior has been handed a two-match suspension following his red card incident in the club’s dramatic LaLiga victory over Valencia.
The Brazilian forward will be available for selection in the Spanish Super Cup later this week but will miss upcoming league encounters against Las Palmas and Real Valladolid.
Vinicius was shown a red card after an altercation with Valencia goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski during Real Madrid’s first LaLiga fixture of 2025 at the Mestalla. Despite the setback, Los Blancos rallied to secure a thrilling 2-1 comeback win.
Hugo Duro opened the scoring for Valencia in the first half, giving the hosts a narrow lead. However, Real Madrid’s fightback began with veteran midfielder Luka Modric, who equalized in the 85th minute. Jude Bellingham then sealed the victory with a dramatic stoppage-time strike.
The win lifted Real Madrid to the top of the LaLiga table, two points clear of Atlético Madrid, though Diego Simeone’s side has a game in hand.
Following the match, Vinicius took to social media, posting, “Sorry, and thanks, team!” in a show of gratitude for his teammates’ effort and support.
The suspension adds another twist to Real Madrid’s season as they push for domestic glory while preparing for upcoming challenges.
