Suspended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has visited President Bola Tinubu at his private residence in Lagos, signaling a potential political comeback amid ongoing tensions in the state.

The visit came shortly after Fubara publicly declared his intention to return to office, reassuring citizens that steps were being taken to revive full executive and legislative functions in the state.

Speaking during a recent meeting with members of the Simplified Movement in Port Harcourt, Fubara commended President Tinubu for his swift intervention in defusing what could have escalated into a full-blown crisis in Rivers State. The event was held to mark the second anniversary of his administration.

“We must recognize and appreciate Mr. President’s quick and fatherly intervention in resolving the political challenges facing our state,” Fubara said.

He noted that the political unrest disrupted plans to celebrate the achievements of his administration but maintained that efforts were already underway to reposition the government.

“Our structures will be fully restored. The executive and legislative arms will work together again, and governance will return to normal,” Fubara assured.

Despite his suspension and the power tussle rocking the state, Fubara reaffirmed his commitment to delivering good governance and pledged that his administration would return stronger and more united.

Sources close to the matter believe the visit to President Tinubu may be part of broader efforts to broker peace and facilitate Fubara’s return to the Government House.
