Wike gives new instruction as IBB Golf Club committee emerges

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has directed the newly constituted Interim Management Committee of the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB) International Golf and Country Club to commence work without delay.
This was made known in a statement issued by Wike’s Senior Special Assistant, Lere Olayinka, who noted that the committee will operate under the supervision of the club’s Board of Trustees, chaired by the President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem.
Wike said the urgent activation of the committee’s mandate is aimed at resolving the leadership and management challenges that have recently plagued the prestigious golf club.
The 10-member committee is headed by Dr. Peter Deshi, with Yomi Oyelola appointed as secretary. Other members include Gbenga Elegbeleye, Nanwor Mamven, Ekanem Ekwueme, Arabi Bello, Lawan Aboki, Okey Nnaedozie, Fred Otobo, and Julius Fadairo.
The FCT Minister also reiterated that the IBB Golf Club remains the property of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), dispelling any misconceptions about its ownership.
The committee is expected to work closely with the Board of Trustees to restore transparency, order, and effective administration at the club.
