Wike speaks with spirit of truth – PDP chieftain

Segun Sowunmi, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former governorship candidate in Ogun State, has hailed the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for his honesty and boldness during his recent media chat in Abuja.
In a strongly-worded statement titled “On H.E. Nyesom Wike’s Media Chat”, Sowunmi commended the former Rivers State Governor, describing him as someone “emboldened by the spirit of truth,” despite his personal flaws.
“There is a spirit of truth; once a truthful person hears it, his spirit must move, for indeed, it is part of God’s great gifts!” Sowunmi wrote. “To listen to Wike is to know that his human frailties notwithstanding, he is emboldened by the spirit of truth.”
Wike’s media parley, which focused on the political crisis in Rivers State and the controversial state of emergency declared by President Bola Tinubu, has continued to spark mixed reactions across the country.
While some Nigerians have criticized Wike’s position on Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s suspension and the appointment of a sole administrator in Rivers, others, like Sowunmi, have praised the FCT Minister for speaking his truth boldly.
