Workers Day 2025: Nwifuru approves bonus for all workers

Governor of Ebonyi State Francis Nwifuru, has approved a N10,000 bonus for state workers to celebrate May Day.
The announcement was made on Thursday during the Workers’ Day event in Abakaliki, which carried the theme “Reclaiming the Civic Space in the Midst of Economic Hardship.”
The governor praised the workers for their efforts, calling them the driving force behind the government.
He promised to keep supporting their welfare and said they would continue to be seen as examples of excellence under his leadership.
Nwifuru also spoke about the importance of the May Day celebration, describing it as a time to recognize the role of workers in building the nation.
He assured the workers that his administration understands the challenges they face and is determined to address them.
He further called for unity between the government and workers to keep pushing Ebonyi forward.
In a similar development, Edo State governor, Monday Okpebholo has approved an increment in the minimum wage for workers from N70,000 to N75,000.
