Breaking: Court orders arrest of Polaris Bank MD, manager in Niger

Justice Maimuna Abubakar of the Niger High Court 6 has ordered the arrest of the Managing Director of Polaris Bank, Omokayode Lawal and the Minna Branch mananger for contempt of Court.
The order by the Judge is against the allegation of tax evasion by the duo to the tune of N1 billion.
The state Internal Revenue Service had filed its case through Muhammad Ndayako against the defendants for their refusal to pay taxes worth more than N1 billion.
The duo were absent during the court proceeding which was held yesterday.
The warrant of arrest against the Managing Director and the Minna branch manager was as a result of their refusal to honour the Court Summon to be present in court.
In her ruling, Justice Maimuna Abubakar ordered Police Officers to effect the arrest of the defendants.
She then adjourned the case to December 13, 2024 for the arraignment of the defendants.
