79-year-old Nigerian woman cries out after allegedly being exploited in U.S

A heartbreaking video of a 79-year-old Nigerian woman allegedly being exploited as an unpaid nanny in the United States has gone viral on social media.
The elderly woman, whose name has not yet been disclosed, is seen outside with her luggage, visibly distressed, as she narrates her ordeal in Yoruba to a concerned man questioning her.
According to the woman, she was brought to the U.S. with promises of a better life, only to find herself used as a full-time nanny with no compensation or proper care. She revealed that she had been solely responsible for taking care of three young children, often from as early as 5:00 a.m. until their parents returned at 10:00 p.m.
“They go out by 5 a.m. and don’t come back until 10 at night. I’m the one taking care of everything,” she said in the video.
She further alleged that despite a prior agreement to pay her $1,100 if she performed well, no payment had been made since she arrived.
The video, which has now gone viral, has drawn strong reactions from Nigerians at home and abroad, many of whom are calling for intervention and justice for the elderly woman. Some expressed outrage over the treatment of an elderly person, while others demanded that the host family be held accountable.
The woman’s current welfare and safety remain unclear, as details surrounding the location and individuals involved are still emerging.
