Gombe State governor Inuwa Yahaya has cautioned youths in the state against participating in the planned national protest against hunger and hardship.
Speaking during the flag-off of a dredging exercise to prevent flooding in the state capital, Governor Inuwa urged the youths to shun the demonstration and instead focus on meaningful activities that promote peace and development.
The governor also directed the police to ensure law and order by preventing any form of demonstration in the state.
The dredging exercise, which engaged a significant number of youths, aims to mitigate the effects of flooding in the state.
Governor Inuwa’s warning comes ahead of the planned national protest, which has gained momentum on social media.
The protest, aimed at addressing the country’s economic challenges, has been met with mixed reactions from various stakeholders.
