APGA chairman apologises over support for Otti

After much pressure, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Chairman, Ebekuo Esere has apologized for supporting Abia State Governor Alex Otti over party candidate.
According to him, “As a concerned Abia citizen, one is worried that the so-called leaders are the ones who do not want progress for the state because of their selfish motives.
“When I saw the story and his allusion to one Eks Steve, a known enemy of the state, I shuddered and concluded that this man had exposed his inclination to avarice.
“A very disturbing trend in Abia politics that I discovered is that most politicians in the state are selfish, and this is the reason that Abia State has remained backward for decades. When you want to contest a position, they back you up with the intention that when you win, you share the monthly allocation of the state with them. Once you don’t, they begin to blackmail you.
Having watched Dr. Alex Otti since he became Governor, his antecedents in the banking sector, and the kind of vision he has for the people, I knew he would never agree to such a formula, and because of that, he is going to have many enemies.”
