Police launch manhunt on killers of 2 officers

Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has ordered a nationwide manhunt for individuals responsible for the brutal murder of two police officers and sponsorship of Nigerian Islamic Movement (Shiites) members.
The incident occurred at Wuse Market in Abuja, resulting in the deaths of two officers, a merchant, and the torching of three police patrol cars.
Commissioner of Police, Benneth Igweh, condemned the killings, vowing to bring perpetrators to justice.
Force spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, stated, “The unprovoked killings of police officers are outrageous and unacceptable. Those who murdered these policemen have murdered peace.”
Egbetokun pledged to uncover the full scope of the attack and prevent future violence against police personnel.
97 suspects have been arrested, and the police will continue to pursue justice for the slain officers.
The IGP offered condolences to the families of the fallen officers and wished speedy recovery to those injured.
The police seek public support in maintaining law and order amidst extremist threats and violent crimes.
