Super eagles player nominated for 2024 Ballon d’Or award
In a prestigious recognition of his outstanding performances, Super Eagles and Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman has been nominated for the 2024 Ballon d’Or award.
Lookman’s compatriot, Victor Osimhen, unfortunately, did not make the list.
The full list of nominees includes notable players such as Kylian Mbappe, Lautaro Martinez, and Vinicius Jr. The award ceremony is scheduled to take place on October 28, 2024, at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris.
In addition to the men’s award, the nominees for the Women’s Ballon d’Or include Lauren Hemp, Trinity Rodman, and Alex Putellas. The Women’s Club of the Year nominees are Barcelona, Chelsea, Lyon, and PSG, while the Women’s Coach of the Year nominees include Sonia Bompastor and Emma Hayes.
The men’s club nominees include Borussia Dortmund, Girona, Bayer Leverkusen, Real Madrid, and Manchester City, while the men’s coach nominees include Carlo Ancelotti, Pep Guardiola, and Lionel Scaloni. The Yachine Trophy nominees for best goalkeeper include Diogo Costa, Gianluigi Donnarumma, and Emiliano Martinez.
The Kopa Trophy nominees for best young player include Pau Cubarsi, Alejandro Garnacho, and Lamine Yamal.
