VIDEO: Devastating floods hit Borno, leaving thousands homeless

A catastrophic flood is sweeping through Borno State, rendering numerous residents homeless and causing widespread destruction.
The disaster, attributed to the collapse of a dam, has forced some individuals to cling to streetlights in a desperate bid to escape the raging waters.
Videos shared on social media show residents swimming through the flood, which has engulfed significant infrastructure, including the Monarch’s palace, the state’s university teaching hospital, and several schools. The flood levels are reportedly the highest seen in the state since 1994.
The situation has taken a dangerous turn, with the Maiduguri zoo being affected, allowing wild animals to roam the streets. Videos have surfaced showing ostriches, crocodiles, and snakes parading through the flooded streets, sparking serious safety concerns.
