Another Nigerian singer confirms relocation to US

Popular Nigerian singer, Sydney Esiri, better known as Dr Sid, has officially confirmed his relocation to the United States.
The singer shared details about his move during his appearance on the No Man’s Friend podcast, where he opened up about his decision to leave Nigeria after securing a job in the U.S.
Dr Sid revealed that he made the move last year after receiving an offer from a New York-based company. The new role allowed him the flexibility to live anywhere in the U.S., and he chose Houston, Texas, where he has family and close friends.
“I now live in the U.S. I left Nigeria last year after I got a job with a company in New York that offered me an opportunity to move to the States and live anywhere in the U.S. I’ve family in Houston, my best friend lives here, so Houston, Texas was an easy choice. I’ve been working here for the last one year and a half,” the singer disclosed.
Dr Sid’s relocation follows a similar trend among some Nigerian celebrities. Just recently, another well-known R&B star, Bankole Wellington, popularly known as Banky W, also made headlines after moving to the United States with his family.
The move marks a new chapter for Dr Sid, who has been in the Nigerian music scene for years, and it comes as part of a growing wave of Nigerian talents seeking opportunities abroad.
