Nigerian Army clashes with notorious bandit leader

An intense fire fight erupted on Thursday between Nigerian Army troops and bandits led by the notorious Bello Turji in the Sabon Birni area of Sokoto State, according to emerging reports.
Abdulsalam Suleiman Izuagbe, a senior consultant and public affairs analyst, confirmed the skirmish to, emphasizing the heightened insecurity in the region. He reported that gunfire was ongoing, preventing travelers from safely moving between Shinkafi and Sabon Birni.
“There is a war going on in Sabon Birni; Bello Turji is facing the Nigerian Army as I talk to you,” Izuagbe stated. “They are exchanging fire, and from Shinkafi to Sabon Birni is no longer safe for anybody to travel. Anyone assuming it’s business as usual is mistaken.”
