A Nigerian man has stirred the pot online by branding social media influencer VeryDarkMan as a “fraud boy,” accusing him of playing the victim amid the controversy surrounding his NGO.
The accusations surfaced in a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), where the man criticized VeryDarkMan for inconsistencies in his claims about an alleged hacking incident.
The drama began when VeryDarkMan, known for his outspoken persona, shared a video alleging that ₦180 million had been stolen from his NGO account by hackers, supposedly traced to Jos. Days later, however, he confessed that the claim was false, calling it a mere joke or “cruise.”
This revelation didn’t sit well with many, including the accuser, who dismissed VeryDarkMan’s initial claims, insisting that no money was ever stolen from the NGO.
The man further accused the influencer of damaging his own reputation with such antics.

In response to the backlash, VeryDarkMan released another video addressing the criticisms, but his detractor remained unyielding. The man doubled down, saying, “I am still not sure why this fraud boy is crying. He said money was stolen. Nigerians said it’s a lie and advised him he is damaging his reputation. Why is he shouting like the victim?”
As the online feud escalated, netizens flooded the comments section with mixed reactions. While some supported the accuser’s stance, others expressed sympathy for VeryDarkMan, urging both parties to focus on resolving the issues amicably.
