Peter Obi dismisses arrest rumours

Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has dismissed circulating rumours about his alleged arrest, calling them unfounded and deceptive.
The former governor of Anambra State took to social media on Wednesday evening to debunk the claims, confirming that he was at his residence in Onitsha. He urged his supporters and the public to ignore the misinformation.

Obi’s clarification comes amid an ongoing dispute with Felix Morka, a prominent figure in the All Progressives Congress (APC), over recent allegations involving death threats following Obi’s critical New Year message.
Referring to similar false reports in 2024, Obi reminded the public of a previous rumour where he was falsely accused of being detained by the Department of State Services (DSS) while in Rwanda. He described these recurring falsehoods as deliberate attempts to divert attention from the nation’s pressing issues.
Obi reiterated his commitment to addressing matters of national interest and encouraged Nigerians to remain focused on advocating for progress and good governance.
