PDP queries Kantigi over reckless comments on 2027 elections

The peoples Democratic party (PDP) has questioned the party 2023 governorship candidate Isah Liman Kantigi, over alleged comments on 2027 elections.
Kantigi had commented during a program with Prestige FM.
He said come 2027, “no member of the opposition parties will be able to contest against the incumbent Governor Farmer Mohammed Bago, and should anyone from Zone A decide to contest for the Governorship seat in Niger State, they will encounter substantial obstacles from him.
“A political system devoid of opposition is analogous to a state without security, because the difference between military dictatorship and democracy is the presence of elections, and without free elections, the system cannot be considered democratic.
“Indeed, it is time for zone “A”, but it is unfair to prevent individuals from zone “A” from seeking the governorship seat, merely because the Niger State governor is performing well.” he said.
