Rooney urges Man Utd to re-sign former teammate

Wayne Rooney has urged Manchester United to consider re-signing his former teammate Danny Welbeck to help resolve the club’s ongoing goalscoring struggles.
Manchester United are enduring a challenging campaign, sitting mid-table in the Premier League and struggling to find consistent form in front of goal.
The club’s forwards, including Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund, have failed to make a significant impact, with the Red Devils scoring only 33 goals in the league.
Wayne Rooney, who played alongside Danny Welbeck at United, believes the 34-year-old striker could still contribute at Old Trafford. “Danny, he’s great to play alongside and if I’m being completely honest, I’d probably still like to see him here playing for Manchester United,” Rooney said.
“He scored goals throughout his career, had injuries in the early part of his career, but seems to have got over them and he’s having a fantastic season.”
Welbeck has been in excellent form for Brighton & Hove Albion this term, contributing eight goals and four assists across all competitions.
