Nwifuru suspends 3 commissioners

Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru announced the suspension of three of his commissioners for failing to attend a crucial State Executive Council meeting without prior permission.
The suspended officials include Solomon Azi, the Commissioner for Grants and Donor Agencies, Victor Chukwu, who oversees the Environment sector, and Ikeuwa Omebe, the Commissioner for Rural Development.
The suspension is set to last for one month.
The Governor took this action after the meeting, where the three commissioners were notably absent without any explanation.
Jude Okpor, the Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, shared the decision at a briefing on Tuesday.
Governor Nwifuru made it clear that absenteeism and unprofessional conduct would not be tolerated, urging public servants to maintain commitment to their duties.
He also directed that the suspended commissioners would not enjoy the benefits and privileges associated with their roles during their suspension period.
Additionally, the Governor warned contractors working on state projects to ensure they meet deadlines and adhere strictly to the terms of their contracts.
He stated that the government would not hesitate to use legal means to ensure compliance.
