Benue: APC alleges attempt to assassinate party’s legal adviser in Abuja

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Chairman in Benue State, Benjamin Omale, has condemned alleged assassination attempt on the party’s State Legal Adviser, Terhemen Ngbea, in Abuja.
He alleged it was a well calculated plot to assassinate or kidnap the legal officer of the party.
Omale made the assertions in a statement, where he also dismissed the speculation that that the incident was a normal occurrence.
“We have reason to believe that this was a targeted attack, aimed at either kidnapping or eliminating him due to the critical role he plays at the Benue Local Government Elections Petition Tribunal currently sitting in Abuja.”
Chief Omale said the incident has been reported to law enforcement agencies and the party is cooperating with them to unravel the reason for the attack.
It was reported that suspected gunmen had trailed Ngbea to a parking lot in the Central Area of Abuja, where they attacked his vehicle and forcibly opened its door in what appeared to be a coordinated assault.
He escaped with bruises but his vehicle was vandalized and several vital documents and personal belongings carted away.
Chief Omale said the party was perturbed over the attack on the Legal Adviser because he was in Abuja as the coordinator of the party’s legal matters at the Local Government Election Tribunal, at Abuja.
He, however, said Ngbea has stabilized after the brazen attack and has resumed his duties at the Tribunal.
