Serie A confirmed on Monday that the league matches postponed due to Pope Francis’ death have all been rearranged to kick off on Wednesday, the 26th of April at 18:30 CET.

Easter Monday’s matchday 33 games between Cagliari and Fiorentina, Genoa and Lazio, Parma and Juventus, and Torino and Udinese were postponed earlier today by Serie A following Pope Francis’ passing.

Youth league matches were also suspended in Italy, with the Vatican confirming that the Pope died aged 88 on Monday. Tributes have been flooding in from clubs across Italy since the news broke out earlier today.

While the football community continues to mourn the loss, Serie A have announced that the four suspended top-flight fixtures have been rearranged to kick off on Wednesday, the 26th of April at 18:30 CET.

Amid a congested finish to the 2024/25 season, there were fears over the matches potentially clashing with the Champions League semi-finals. However, Serie A have alleviated worries by fitting them this week.
