Rodri, Haaland back in training for Man City

Manchester City duo Rodri and Erling Haaland have been spotted training with the team on Saturday ahead fo their FA Cup semi-final showdown against Nottingham Forest.

2025 Ballon d’Or winner Rodri has been missing for Manchester City since September, suffering a major anterior cruciate ligament injury that has kept him sidelined for over seven months.

The Spaniard returned to individual training in March, reassuring at the time that he would be back before the end of the season despite reports suggesting that his 2024/25 campaign was over.

And it seems Rodri is on course to maintain his promise as he was spotted in first-team training on Saturday ahead of Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final showdown against Nottingham Forest.

While it is highly unlikely to see the 2024 Euro champion on the pitch against the Tricky Trees, his inclusion in the training session is certainly positive news that can brighten the day for City fans.

Rodri’s absence has been crucial for the reigning Premier League champions in what has been a dismal term for them. Nevertheless, they still have the chance to salvage it by winning a domestic trophy.

As well as the Spanish midfielder, Erling Haaland was also present training with his teammates. The Norway striker went off with an ankle injury in the FA Cup quarter-final win over Bournemouth last month.

Like Rodri, Haaland is also eyeing a return before the end of the season, and there is confidence among Pep Guardiola’s side to have them back before the Club World Cup, which kicks off on June 14.
