Woman cries out after allegedly losing ₦40 million to fraudster

A Nigerian woman has tearfully alleged that she was defrauded of ₦40 million by a man who promised to supply her goods, leaving her on the run from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over unpaid bank loans.
In a video currently making the rounds on X (formerly Twitter), the distraught woman recounted how she secured a ₦34 million loan from a bank in Warri and added ₦6 million of her own funds, bringing the total to ₦40 million.
According to her, a man based in Warri approached her with a business proposal, promising to supply goods once an agreement was reached. She explained that she initially transferred ₦10 million to him as part of the deal.
However, after the initial payment, she alleged that the man repeatedly sent representatives to her, demanding additional funds for expenses such as boats and security logistics. Trusting him, she continued to make payments until the entire ₦40 million was exhausted.
Shockingly, the woman claimed that after receiving the full amount, the man cut off all communication and failed to deliver the goods as promised.
She further revealed that the EFCC had begun pursuing her following the bank’s report over the unpaid loan. According to her, EFCC operatives stormed her residence, prompting her to flee and go into hiding.
In her emotional appeal for justice, she said, “A man in Bayelsa duped me of ₦40 million. He told me he wanted to supply goods for me. The bank lent me ₦34 million, and I added ₦6 million from my savings. After sending him ₦10 million and additional amounts for logistics, he refused to deliver the goods. Now the EFCC is after me, and I have been hiding.”
She also accused the man’s wife, who she claimed is a police officer, of threatening her life and warning her against speaking out.
As the video gained traction online, many concerned Nigerians flooded the comment section, expressing outrage over the woman’s ordeal and calling for justice.

@grind_charts: “Borrowing what you can’t afford to lose is already a trap. ₦40M lost means two things: greed or ignorance. In both cases, the banks don’t cry with you — they collect.”
@NigerianCos: “Contact VDM with your evidence. We’ll recover your money within a week.”
@Deepphlamez: “You go need evidence o… 40 million no be smallz.”
@Zicky001_: “Thank God very dark man is making the Nigeria judiciary, EFCC and police useless.”
