Liverpool striker sets for La Liga switch

Darwin Nunez could be on his way out of Anfield this summer, with reports from Spain suggesting the Liverpool forward has given the green light to a transfer to Atletico Madrid.
The 25-year-old arrived from Benfica with high expectations in 2022, but after an underwhelming third season on Merseyside, where he has managed just seven goals, his future at the club appears increasingly uncertain.
Despite showing glimpses of his potential, Nunez has struggled for consistency and has fallen down the pecking order, especially under incoming head coach Arne Slot.
According to Cadena SER, the Uruguayan has already held discussions with Atletico and is keen on making a switch to La Liga.
The Spanish side are believed to have received a positive response from the player’s inner circle, though no formal agreement has yet been reached with Liverpool, who may still need to negotiate terms.
His contract at Liverpool runs until 2028, but the Reds could be open to offers as they look to refresh their squad ahead of the new campaign.
