Revealed! What Saraki discussed with Makinde during Ibadan meeting

Former Senate President and ex-Governor of Kwara State, Dr. Bukola Saraki, on Monday visited Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, in Ibadan as part of efforts to strengthen internal unity within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The closed-door meeting took place at the Governor’s Lodge in Agodi, Ibadan, and was described by insiders as a crucial step in Saraki’s ongoing reconciliation mission across the Southwest. While official details of the discussion remain undisclosed, party sources confirmed that the talks revolved around rebuilding cohesion within the PDP, empowering grassroots structures, and fostering cross-regional alliances.
Saraki, who previously chaired the PDP National Reconciliation Committee, reportedly stressed the need for inclusivity and performance as the bedrock of any winning strategy.
An aide to Saraki confirmed that the Oyo State visit marks the beginning of a broader Southwest reconciliation tour, with scheduled stops in other PDP strongholds in the coming days.
As internal divisions and external pressures continue to shape Nigeria’s political landscape, the meeting between Saraki and Makinde signals the PDP’s attempt to regroup and reposition itself as a formidable force ahead of the next election cycle.
