Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has joined the growing list of voices calling on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to urgently intervene in the ongoing killings in Benue State.

In a viral video that has stirred reactions online, the street-pop artiste, Portable expressed deep frustration over the escalating violence in Benue state, questioning the priorities of Nigeria’s security forces.

“Look at how security agencies are guarding cows in Benue State while humans are being killed,” Portable lamented.

The singer, known for his outspoken and unconventional style, did not hold back as he made an emotional plea to President Tinubu, warning that the continued bloodshed could hurt the president’s chances of re-election in 2027.

“This killing can affect your second tenure in 2027,” he cautioned, noting that the government’s failure to protect its citizens may lead to widespread disillusionment among voters.

He ended his passionate appeal with a direct message: “Stop killing in Benue.”

Portable’s remarks come amid national outrage following the recent massacre in Yelwata, Guma Local Government Area, where over 200 people were reportedly killed in a brutal attack. As pressure mounts on the federal government to take decisive action, voices like Portable’s reflect the growing anger and despair among Nigerians over the worsening state of security.
