Armed robbers cause panic in Ibadan, escape with millions after Mokola shootout

Panic gripped residents of Ibadan on Wednesday, June 18, after a group of armed robbers unleashed terror at the popular Mokola Roundabout, firing sporadically into the crowd and leaving several people injured.
Eyewitnesses described the scene as chaotic, with pedestrians and motorists fleeing in all directions as the gunmen shot indiscriminately while executing what appears to be a well-planned heist.
The assailants reportedly escaped with millions of naira before security operatives could intervene, further fueling concerns about the rising spate of daylight robberies in urban centers.
Multiple victims who sustained varying degrees of injuries during the attack were immediately rushed to nearby hospitals for emergency treatment.
As of the time of filing this report, the Oyo State Police Command has yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
