A sermon by fiery Nigerian preacher, Apostle Johnson Suleman, has gone viral, creating a wave of reactions online over his controversial take on financial expectations in romantic relationships.

The clip, which surfaced on X (formerly Twitter), captures the Omega Fire Ministries founder addressing a packed congregation with a bold message aimed particularly at young women. In the video, Apostle Suleman declared:

“Any girl that asks you for transport, leave her.”

Delivered during what appeared to be a lively church service, his remarks quickly stirred laughter and applause in the auditorium.

Suleman didn’t mince words as he questioned the logic of men being asked to pay for transportation by women who wish to visit them.

“You have to pay for transport for someone to come and see you, for something that’s mutually beneficial to both of you?” he asked, suggesting that such expectations lack reciprocity and self-respect.

Using rhetorical flair, he continued:

“Is she not praying for marriage? Are you not the answer to that prayer now that you’ve started talking?”

The pastor’s tone alternated between humorous and assertive, as he urged women to embrace financial independence and stop leaning on men for basic expenses like transportation.

“Nobody can price you beyond your package,” he declared, challenging women to recognize their worth without attaching it to financial dependence.

He further criticized what he described as a growing entitlement culture, adding:

“When a man takes you out, as you’re going out, have your money to pay for what you ordered. That’s how to carry yourself with dignity.”
