FRSC to wear new look, says new Corps Marshal

New Corps Marshal of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Shehu Mohammed says he will facelift the operational strategy of the corps nationwide.
Mohammed said this in his maiden address on Wednesday in Abuja, appreciating God and President Bola Tinubu for the opportunity to serve.
He said that a committee would be set up to review the FRSC’s operational strategies to ensure that it conforms to present-day realities.
He also promised to ensure training and retraining of staff to align with realistic expectations, noting that the corps would ensure that the training institutions were active throughout the year.
“We will pursue partnership with sister and relevant agencies and seek improved partnership with international agencies.
“These agencies include the United Nations (UN) World Bank and World health Organisation (WHO), among others, while the corps will also boost collaboration with Special Marshals”.
The corps marshal also promised to establish a technical advisory unit to combine with the corps Information Technology Office (CITO) for improved operations.
“Our operations remain the bedrock of our activities and therefore the first focal point is rejigging and repositioning our operation through digital transformation.
“With this, we have already established a technical advisory unit to combine with core information technology situation,” he said.
Mohammed promised improved staff welfare, adding that there would be harmonisation of the ranking structure and career progression.
“We will also ensure the review of FRSC Educational Policy by increasing number of slots for further studies”, he said.
The FRSC boss further pledged to ensure environment conducive for working through provision of additional staff buses and creation of Strategic Business Unit.
This, he explained, would be to boost FRSC’s investment drive, resuscitate sporting and recreational activities, encourage monthly walking and jogging exercise.
“I am confident that together, we can overcome any challenges that come our way.
“With your continuous support and dedication, I believe that FRSC will reach even greater heights of success in line with the Renewed Hope agenda of the current administration.
“Let us work as a team, with sense of purpose and commitment to make our roads safer for all”, he said.
