Wife cuts husband’s private part in Kaduna

A newlywed woman, Habiba Ibrahim, has allegedly cut the private part of her husband, Salisu Idris, while he was asleep.
Idris, a motorcyclist and resident of Kudan, Kaduna State, recounted that the disturbing incident occurred on May 26, shortly after he returned home from his early morning prayers.
He said lying on his bed to have some rest when his wife suddenly jumped on him with a sharp knife and almost cut off his manhood, but for neighbours who came to his rescue when they heard him shouting.
Idris said they got married about four months ago, adding that he could not fathom the reason for her action because they loved each other and there was no prior misunderstanding before the attack.
It was learnt that Idris was rushed to a hospital in Kudan from where he was referred to the General Hospital Makarfi.
He was later taken to the Ahmadu Bello University teaching Hospital, Zaria where doctors battled to save his life.
“At the moment, I am more concerned about my condition. I am afraid of remarrying because of this incident,” he said.
Rabi Salisu, Idris’ mother, who has been by his side in the hospital, revealed that despite not living in the same compound, her son had never expressed any grievances or concerns about his wife to her.
“Her parents are worried and are willing to settle his medical bills,” she added.
Efforts to obtain an update on Idris’ medical condition from hospital officials were unsuccessful.
She was said to have been apprehended by the police.
Attempts to reach the Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mansur Hassan, for an official statement on the incident were unsuccessful.
