Asake reportedly parts ways with YBNL, Olamide

Social media has been abuzz with reports suggesting that Afrobeats sensation Asake has parted ways with his record label, YBNL, and its boss, Olamide.
The rumors gained traction after fans noticed that Asake had unfollowed Olamide on Instagram, removed all references to YBNL from his bio, and deleted all posts from his account.
Entertainment blogger Cutie Juls revealed that Asake’s contract with YBNL recently expired. According to the blogger, Olamide presented Asake with a new deal, but the singer reportedly declined to renew his contract. Despite Olamide’s best efforts to negotiate and retain him, Asake is said to have chosen to become an independent artist.
In a post, Cutie Juls shared, “Asake leaves YBNL and dumps Olamide. Insiders say Asake’s contract with YBNL expired, and when Olamide presented a new deal, Asake refused to sign. The final straw came two weeks ago when Asake walked out of the negotiations, opting to be his own boss. Hopefully, they can resolve this and get Asake to stay.”

Asake joined YBNL in 2022 and quickly became a breakout star with his hit single, Sungba, which catapulted him to international fame. Since then, he has achieved significant milestones, including selling out the O2 Arena twice.
Neither Asake nor Olamide has addressed the rumors publicly, leaving fans eager to see whether this marks the end of their collaboration or a temporary hurdle in their working relationship.
