A tragic incident unfolded on Thursday as an Air India passenger plane crashed shortly after taking off from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad, plunging the area into chaos and panic.

The aircraft, identified as Air India Flight AI171, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner was bound for London Gatwick when it went down in the Meghani area, not far from the airport. Eyewitnesses described hearing a thunderous noise, followed by a massive explosion and thick black smoke rising ominously into the sky.

Emergency response teams, including fire crews and paramedics, arrived at the scene swiftly and launched immediate rescue operations. Firefighters battled intense flames while trying to secure the crash site and locate any possible survivors.

Although the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has confirmed the crash, details about the number of casualties or injuries have not yet been released. Officials are also yet to provide information about the exact cause of the crash.

Eyewitness reports suggest the plane had barely lifted off before it came down violently, intensifying concerns about possible mechanical failure or other technical issues. The aircraft was reportedly heavily fueled for the long-haul international flight, raising fears that the resulting fire could hamper rescue efforts.

As rescue operations continue, authorities have assured the public that a full investigation is underway.
