Concentrate on your corruption allegations against culture minister, Kolawole fires COCSOACB

Retired Deputy Comptroller of Immigration, Oregun, Ikeja Lagos, Ayodele Kolawole has called on Dr. Oluwarotimi Ayenugana the National Spokesman for the Coalition of Civil Society Organisation Against Bribery and Corruption (COCSOACB) to channel his energy towards the corruption allegation against the Minister of Arts and Culture, Barrister Hannatu Musa Musawa.
In a statement by Ayodele Kolawole, he warned COCSOACB to decist from joining issues with the Comptroller of Immigration and instead concentrate on their corruption allegations against the the minister.
According to him, the Immigration boss has not violated any law whatsoever on the review of Foreign Mission list, and the CGI is nowhere connected with any corruption case even by a long shot.
“Therefore, joining issues with her is defamatory. I might also add that it is within her powers to post or review any posting of her Officers as may be required. Besides, there was favouritism in the previously lopsided foreign postings, with lots of irregularities.
“It will interest you to know that the NIS is a regimental agency and definitely not a civil organisation. Foreign postings require serious due diligence based on merit, but it is definitely not a right.
“All NIS officials are given the same training to discharge their duties wherever they are posted. On the issue of Foreign postings, there is no going back. It was done in good faith after diligent screening of the Officers concerned. The NIS can not and will not be intimidated by faceless sponsored so-called CSO for cheap popularity.”
He argued that CGI is doing her best to take the Service to a greater height.
He further revealed that the immigration boss inherited lots of debt, poor staff welfare, poor border management indiscipline, high rate of corruption at the passport offices among others, “but she was able to clear over 1 million passport backlogs, introduction of e-gate at our airports, user friendly e-visa and currently on nationwide fact finding mission accros our border lines within her first 100 days in office.”
“We urge the CGI Kemi Nandap to focus more on the good work she has started and should not be distracted by mischief makers. We have already passed vote of confidence for her, the general public are hereby invited to disregard any misinformation or call that will bring disrepute and interference in the internal affairs of regimental agencies, we are not civilians please.”
