Dele Momodu celebrates Atiku’s birthday with heartfelt tribute

Renowned journalist and publisher, Dele Momodu, has penned an inspiring tribute to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar (GCON) in celebration of his birthday.
The note, shared on his Instagram account, highlights Atiku’s political journey, business acumen, and personal virtues.
Momodu praised Atiku’s unwavering commitment to democracy and his calmness in the face of challenges. Recalling the former Vice President’s selfless act during the 1993 SDP Presidential Primary in Jos, where he stepped down for Chief MKO Abiola, Momodu described it as a remarkable display of maturity and selflessness.
He also commended Atiku for his ability to maintain composure amidst political setbacks and criticisms, remarking that his resilience is both “mysterious and remarkable.” Momodu wrote, “Your total abhorrence of violence and thuggery in our nation’s body polity is extraordinary and praiseworthy.”
Reflecting on Atiku’s achievements beyond politics, Momodu lauded his business acumen, stating it is worthy of academic study. He further emphasized Atiku’s dedication to the principles of democracy, describing him as a “consummate democrat” whose efforts would one day receive global recognition.
The tribute concluded with warm wishes for the celebrant:
“When tomorrow comes, the world shall rise up to celebrate and accord you your well-deserved ovation. Congratulations, Sir.”
