EFCC speaks on Suswam’s trial amidst PDP national chair contest

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on Thursday gave an update on the N3.1 billion money trial case involving Gabriel Suswam, former Governor of Benue State.
The anti-graft commission, in a post via its verified Facebook page on Thursday, said the case will come up on May 8 and 10, 2024.

“EX GOV. GABRIEL SUSWAM N3.1 BILLIONFRAUD TRIAL
“Justice Peter Lifu of the Federal High Court, sitting in Abuja has adjourned to 8th and 10th May, 2024, for the continuation of trial of the former governor of Benue State, Gabriel Suswan in the N3.1 Billion Money Laundering case instituted against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.”
Thediscovererng.com reports that Suswam had recently declared his intention to run for the office of national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The former Senator is seeking to complete the tenure of Iyorchia Ayu, the suspended national chairman of the party, who hails from the same Benue as him.
In recent interviews, Suswam discussed his ideas for the largest opposition party in Nigeria and how the PDP might be restructured to defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress in the 2027.
