FRSC trains 2000 personnel on road safety management

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has trained more than 2000 personnel in various areas of professionalism including effective road safety management in the last three months.
FRSC Corps Marshal, Malam Shehu Mohammed disclosed this on Thursday in Abuja, while addressing 80 participants who had just undergone training on communication skills.
Mohammed said that the corps prioritises personnel development, strategic communication and public education to address complex road safety issues.
He said he was committed to achieving the policy thrust of his administration and ensures professionalism, adding that the initiatives aimed to equip personnel with expertise to tackle evolving road safety challenges.
The FRSC Corps said that the capacity-building programme was designed to empower staff with the latest skills.
This, he said included knowledge, and best practices in public relations, media relations, strategic communication, crisis management and road safety administration among others.
“We launched another batch of comprehensive capacity-building programme leading to the training of 80 communicators of the intermediate rank.
“The training which aimed at enhancing their skills and knowledge to meet the evolving demands of road safety management and traffic administration featured a combination of theoretical and practical training sessions.
“There were also workshops, and mentoring, conducted by in-house and international experts.
“This initiative accentuates the corps’ commitment to positioning FRSC as a leading road safety agency, equipped to address the complex challenges of modern road safety management.
“In the last three months alone, more than 2000 personnel have been trained in various areas of professionalism since my assumption of duty, and the productivity level is evidently manifest in the work place,” he said.
The corps marshal emphasised that by investing in personnel, the corps was investing in the future of road safety in the country.
He commended the participants’ performance while emphasising the programme’s significance to reinforces the corps commitment to excellence in road safety management.
