Governor Bala appoints new emir of Ningi


In a significant development, Bauchi State governor, Bala Mohammed, has approved the appointment of Alhaji Haruna Yunusa Danyaya as the 17th Emir of Ningi, marking a new chapter in the emirate’s history.
The appointment followed the death of the late Emir Alhaji Yunusa Danyaya who ruled for 46 years and died last week.
Secretary to the state government Kasim Ibrahim who announced the appointment said the new Emir is the eldest son of the late Danyaya.
He described him as a person with deep traditional background adding that he will bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the throne, having served as the Chiroman Ningi for years before his latest appointment.
Governor Bala Mohammed expressed his support for the new Emir, praying for his success and long reign.
The state government has also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting traditional institutions, recognising their crucial role in maintaining peace and progress in the state.
