Hardship: Ogun approves 2-day workweek for civil servants

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has introduced a new policy aimed at alleviating the burden on state workers.
Officers on Grade Level 01-14 will now enjoy two days off duty per week, while those on Grade Level 15-17 will maintain one day off duty per week.
According to the State Head of Service, Kehinde Onasanya, this gesture is designed to provide substantial relief to workers who face significant commuting challenges. The policy is expected to boost service delivery by motivating and energizing the workforce.
Governor Abiodun has demonstrated his commitment to workers’ welfare by building on his previous initiative, which introduced a one-day off work policy for all grade levels in July 2023. The extension to two days off work for lower-grade levels aims to reduce the financial burden on workers and increase productivity.
Accounting officers have been directed to implement the policy immediately, ensuring that service delivery is not compromised.
