Independent Newspaper Presents award of excellence to Buni


The Independent Newspapers, publishers of Daily Independent Newspaper, Wednesday presented an award of excellence to Yobe state Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni.
The Managing Director/Editor-in-Chief of the Newspaper, Mr Steve Omanufeme, who presented the award to the Governor, said the performances of the governor in education, healthcare delivery, infrastructure and human capital development among other sectors earned Gov. Buni the prestigious award.
“Your excellent performance in the development of education, healthcare, roads and other infrastructure attracted our attention to present you with this award.
“It is our hope that this award would not only make you to keep the tempo but, to improve on it, and win more awards from us and other Newspapers, and organisations. Congratulations, Your Excellency ” he said.
Governor Buni dedicated the award to the good people of Yobe state for supporting the government policies and programmes which provided the platform for the achievements recorded.
“I thank the good people of Yobe state and the Independent Newspapers for tracking our performances, and presenting this award in recognition of the infrastructural development across the state.
“This award would no doubt spur me as a person and the government, to strive more to improve the lives of our people” Buni said.
The governor said he could not attend the ceremony in Lagos due to some pressing state functions assuring the newspaper of a robust working relationship.
