IPMAN secures landmark deal with Dangote Refinery to supply petrol nationwide

The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has struck a significant deal with Dangote Refinery, allowing members to lift petroleum products directly from the facility.
IPMAN’s National President, Abubakar Garima, announced the breakthrough on Monday during a press briefing in Abuja, following a National Working Committee meeting.
Garima explained that this agreement, secured after talks with Aliko Dangote and his team, would ensure a steady and affordable supply of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), and Dual Purpose Kerosene (DPK) across Nigeria. “This partnership will enable IPMAN to supply our members directly, eliminating middlemen and ensuring affordability for Nigerians,” Garima said.
He further encouraged IPMAN members to support this collaboration with Dangote Refinery and other Nigerian refineries, highlighting the benefits of backward integration for Nigeria’s economy. Garima pointed out that the new arrangement would align with President Bola Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda by creating more job opportunities and bolstering the country’s foreign exchange.
The deal marks the conclusion of several months of negotiations and is set to streamline the fuel distribution process for IPMAN’s 30,000 members and over 150,000 retail outlets across the nation. As the largest refinery in Africa and Europe, Dangote Refinery has already started producing petrol, diesel, and aviation fuel, positioning itself as a key player in meeting Nigeria’s energy demands.
This direct supply chain is expected to cut costs, increase efficiency, and drive economic growth across the country, ensuring a more reliable supply for consumers and stabilizing fuel prices.
